SHILLONG, Feb 27: The Meghalaya International Exporters Chamber of Commerce (MIECC) has accused the Border Security Force (BSF) of interfering in the export and import activities at the Land Custom Station (LCS) in Dawki.
The MEICC has also sought the intervention of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma in the matter.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, MIECC general secretary, Dolly Khonglah, said that the alleged interference by the BSF at the LCS has affected the movement of trucks exporting goods to Bangladesh.
“The exporters are facing great difficulties since the vehicles are stuck for many days due the regulation of the BSF on the movement of the trucks which is not necessary,” she said.
According to Khonglah, the BSF demand the truckers to show their driving licence and register them, which is “not acceptable”.
