Agri college celebrates 7th foundation day

SHILLONG, Feb 28: In a grand programme held on Monday, the College of Agriculture, Kyrdemkulai celebrated its 7th foundation day. Meghalaya Chief Secretary, RV Suchiang, Director General, NECTAR, New Delhi, Dr Arun Kumar Sarma and Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Dr Anupam Mishra presided over as the chief guest, guest of honour and chairman of the programme respectively. Before the commencement of the event, Suchiang and the dignitaries attended the research and demonstration on “Integrated Farming System model, Natural Farming model and Waste to Wealth Programme.”
Congratulating the college authorities on celebrating their 7th foundation day, RV Suchiang said that the IFS model developed by the college should also be replicated in other parts of the state so that local farmers can achieve sustainable goals in their agricultural practices.
The chief guest also released the college News Bulletin and distributed piglets and pig feed to the farmers of the area. A webinar on “Vibrant North Eastern Hill Region with Special Emphasis on Integrated Natural Resource Management” was also organised by the college.
Around 200 participants from different parts of the country, faculties, scientists, dignitaries and local farmers had also taken part in the programme which took place in blended mode.
