Gasuapara MDC all set to be GHADC chairman

TURA, March 2: Garo Hills Autonomous District Council member from Gasuapara, Sengchim M Sangma, is all set to become the new chairman of the Council after he was nominated by the NPP along with its alliance partners to the post.
The election to the post of chairman will take place on March 4.
Earlier, GHADC Deputy Chairman Albinush Marak resigned from his post following the resignation of the former CEM, Rakesh Sangma. Albinush is expected to become the new CEM of the Council. He represents the Siju-Rongara constituency.
Sengchim won the GHADC elections last year from Gasuapara constituency in South Garo Hills, defeating Devier M Sangma of the UDP.
