SHILLONG, March 4: With the objective to complete immunisation of children and pregnant women, the Health and Family Welfare Department will conduct the second round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 in East Khasi Hills district between March 7 and 14.
The department has urged parents to bring children, who are below two years of age and are due for immunisation, to the session sites in their respective locality for vaccination.
Headmen, NGOs, church leaders etc., have also been requested to join hands with the department for the success of the programme, the department said in a statement.
It may be noted that COVID-19 had disrupted essential immunisation services due to multiple reasons, which in turn led to the high possibility of unvaccinated/partially vaccinated children being exposed to the risks of vaccine-preventable diseases.
