Govt scraps Shillong med college MoU with KPC

SHILLONG, March 8: The state government has scrapped the agreement with the Kolkata-based firm, Kali Pradip Chaudhuri (KPC) Group for development of the Shillong Medical College under Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode.
While it was not explicitly known when the agreement was scrapped, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday revealed that the particular company did not start the work even after signing the MoU after which the government scrapped the agreement.
The chief minister, however, mentioned that construction of the Tura Medical College was under progress.
