SHILLONG, March 10: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of PWD (Roads), Prestone Tynsong, on Thursday, informed that the sanction for construction of the Khasimara Bridge in Ryngku, East Khasi Hills, including the approach roads, is expected to be received by March-end. The work was proposed under NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance (NIDA).
Replying to a query raised by Mawsynram MLA, HM Shangpliang, Tynsong said that the total estimate of the project is Rs 24 crore.
He also informed the House that there are six incomplete PMGSY projects under Mendipathar constituency due to slow performance of the contractors.
According to Tynsong, the department has axed the work order issued to the contractors and, at the same time, re-tendering process has also been completed, while the leftover work on the project is under progress.
All India Trinamool Congress MLA, Marthon Sangma, who raised the issue during the Question Hour of the Assembly, requested the minister in-charge to expedite the matter.
