KV Tura students to represent Meghalaya in Fit India Quiz
TURA, March 15: After emerging as the state-level quiz champion recently, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Tura will represent Meghalaya at the Fit India Quiz under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The quizzers who will represent Meghalaya at the national-level quiz competition are Sadik Choudhury and Prabhjot Kaur, students of class X. West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh and the principal of KV Tura have, meanwhile, congratulated the duo on its recent feat and have extended their wishes for Fit India Quiz.
Prog discusses drug menace
SHILLONG, March 15: The School of Social Work, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) on Tuesday organised a panel discussion on the perils of drug abuse in Meghalaya and the measures to address the issue. The panel discussion, which was organised as part of the World Social Work Day, was attended by various government officials, faculty members, MLCU Vice Chancellor, et al. The speakers, during the programme, discussed at length the role of media and social media on drug prevention and use. “The role of the church in Drug Prevention and Drug Use was also discussed at length whereas it was reiterated by all the speakers that the church should be one of the no-Judgement zones in a youth’s life,” the statement said.They also conferred about the state government’s youth-centric policies, maintaining that the policies can fall flat if people fail to learn about them.
