BAGHMARA, March 17: In a gruesome incident, a three-year-old girl was on Thursday allegedly killed by her father in the village of Silkigre under Chokpot PS in South Garo Hills (SGH).
As per police, the incident was reported to the police by one Presingson P Marak, the lasker of Silkigre 16A Elaka.
“He informed that one three-year-old was murdered by her father at their residence of Ampadamggre Silkigre. The murderer is suspected to be mentally-challenged since past one year,” said SGH Superintendent of Police, Rithuraj Ravi S, adding that a case of murder has been registered in this regard.
Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the crime scene and found the body of the girl.
The body has been shifted to Baghmara Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
It was also informed by the police that the accused fled to a nearby jungle after perpetrating the crime.
