PDS quota
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that rice under NFSA and non-NFSA for March and wholemeal atta are being released through respective fair price shops. According to a statement, rice under NFSA and non-NFSA regular quota will be distributed at the scale of 35 kg per card at Rs 3 per kg for AAY, 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg for PHH and for non-NFSA at the scale of 7.215 kg per household at Rs 12.70 to Rs 13 per kg. “Wholemeal atta will be distributed for the month of March, 2022 at the scale of 5 kg per card in urban area and 3 kg per card in rural area at the rate of Rs 10.50 per kg,” it said.

Distribution
The Meghandini Mahila Samiti on Monday conducted a distribution of free study materials for the underprivileged students of Laban Bengalee Girls Higher Secondary School. According to a statement, this was carried as part of the Samiti’s annual social assistance programme. “The organisation will conduct similar activities at different city schools within the next month so as to provide educational benefit for the deprived children,” the statement said.
