WKH man gets run over by truck, succumbs to injuries a day later

NONGSTOIN, March 21: A 46-year-old man from West Khasi Hills succumbed to his injuries on Monday, just a day after he was run over by a truck.
The incident happened near DTO office, Nongstoin, on Sunday during which the victim, identified as Tesborlin Thongniiong from Sohparu, Lawse of West Khasi Hills, was run over by a truck bearing registration number AS01DD9937.
Albeit the trucker fled the scene, the truck was confiscated. The victim, on the other hand, was rushed to Nongstoin Civil Hospital and then referred to Shillong where he was undergoing treatment.
However, a day later, the victim succumbed to his injuries at Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital, in Shillong.
Police probe has also been initiated in this regard.
