SHILLONG, March 31: State BJP president Ernest Mawrie has lauded the Centre and Meghalaya government for their initiatives in the much-awaited resolution to the border dispute in six out of 12 areas of differences along the interstate boundary with Assam.
Mawrie thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for inviting the two Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya for deliberation on the border pact.
According to the state BJP chief, in the last 35-40 years, Congress ruled at the Centre as well as in the states of Meghalaya and Assam, but no initiative was taken to resolve the dispute.
