NEIGRIHMS plans slew of events to mark Swachhta Pakhwada
SHILLONG, April 1: As part of the ‘Clean India Healthy India’ initiative, a slew of programmes have been laid out by the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) to mark the Swachhta Pakhwada programme, which the institute launched on Friday. According to a statement, the series of activities planned to be conducted till April 15 includes cleanliness drives, health conference, and debate and skit competitions. These will be held in collaboration with Rotary Club Shillong. During the inaugural programme on Friday, NEIGRIHMS doctors, staff and patients took the Swachhta pledge, after which a tree plantation session besides other activities was organised.

Inter-college Science competition
SHILLONG, April 1: An inter-college Science competition with the theme ‘Solution for Sustainability: Roadmap towards Green Earth’ was organised by the Department of Chemistry, Sankardev College, Shillong, recently as part of the ongoing Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the College. Under the model presentation category, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by the students of St Anthony’s College, Sankardev College and Synod College respectively. While for the PowerPoint presentation category, the 1st prize was awarded to Nandini Prasad, the 2nd prize to Barak KH Hrohlu both from St Anthony’s College and the 3rd prize was awarded to Idadonbok Thabah of Synod college. In the essay writing competition, Wanrahjimgkmen of St Anthony’s College was awarded the 1st prize, Krishna Sharma of St Anthony’s College was awarded the 2nd prize and the 3rd prize was awarded jointly to Nikita Gurung of Sankardev College and Efinica Thabah of St Edmund’s College.
