City events mark World Health Day

SHILLONG, April 7: The Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong, on Thursday joined in the worldwide celebrations of World Health Day by holding a slew of events across parts of Shillong.
According to a statement, the programme, themaised was ‘Our Planet, Our Health’, saw students of Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong, performing a flash mob dance at Khyndai Lad to generate awareness on health of individuals as well as the planet.
“One-to-one interviews among the students of St. Anthony’s College and Shillong College to understand the perception of college students towards health and the environment were also conducted,” the statement said.
As part of the programme, a group interaction among individuals attending the OPD at Ganesh Das Hospital was also held in a bid to raise awareness on preventive health practices and environment health.
