BSF nabs EKH resident with contraband

SHILLONG, April 11: On the basis of specific inputs, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya on Sunday nabbed a resident of a village in East Khasi Hills district and seized 3,000 Yaba tablets from the person.
The consignment was from one Prakash Sumer (42) of Umsyiem village while he was approaching towards border area in his car (ML 05 S 8414) to hand over Yaba tablets to his accomplice based in neighbouring Bangladesh. The BSF intercepted Sumer near Rimasar village in East Khasi Hills and found Yaba tablets hidden under the foot mat of the vehicle. Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Shillong also reached the spot and carried out an investigation.
The apprehended person along with seized contraband was handed over to Pynursla Police Station, East Khasi Hills, and an FIR was registered against him.
