Meghalaya football team departs for Santosh Trophy final round

SHILLONG, April 12: The Meghalaya football team has departed for Kerala to compete in the senior men’s National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy final round.
Meghalaya is drawn with three former champions -West Bengal, Kerala and Punjab – and Rajasthan in Group A. The matches are scheduled to take place at two venues in Kerala’s Malappuram district.
The team begins its campaign against Rajasthan on 18 April. The 20-member squad is led by coach Bobby Lyngdoh Nongbet.
The team was given a send-off by former India international and Shillong Sports Association president Eugeneson Lyngdoh.
