Baghmara, April 22: A vigilant Border Security Force (BSF) along with the district police of South Garo Hills (SGH) yesterday, apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals along with one from India while they were making an exchange of drugs, apparently meant t be smuggled into Bangladesh.
The apprehension of the peddlers led to the recovery of 198 YABA tablets from their possession.
As per a release by the BSF, troops of 43 BN BSF along with Baghmara police cordoned a suspected area in the Malikona locality of the town.
After searching the suspected area, the joint operations party apprehended 4 miscreants, of which there are Bangladeshi nationals and another, Indian.
“The party seized 198 YABA tablets from their possession, which were meant for smuggling to Bangladesh,” said the BSF release.
The apprehended miscreants have been identified as as Rakibul Hoque (22) resident of village Kalapani, Mankachar (Assam), Jaidul islam (24) of the village of Bayapara, PS- Durgapur, Netrakona (Bangladesh) ,Riazul Hoque (30) of Bijaypur, PS- Durgapur, Netrakona (Bangladesh), Kazimuddin (22) of Bayapara, PS- Durgapur, Netrakona (Bangladesh).
The apprehended persons along with seized Yaba were handed over to Baghmara PS for further disposal and an FIR was lodged against all of them as was informed by the BSF release.
