Thunderstorms wreak havoc in EJH village

SHILLONG, April 21: The recent thunderstorms coupled with downpours left in its wake a trail of destruction and property loss at Wahiajer village in East Jaintia Hills.
According to a statement, the thunderstorms had also damaged the cement plant of JUD Cements Ltd.
“During the heavy rainfall, rainwater slammed inside the cement plant and submerged its machines and the entire colony was vandalised. A mighty tree fall over the security check post near the main gate of the cement plant leaving behind four security guards seriously injured,” the statement said.
It is said that rainwater has also damaged the raw materials.
