Eid-ul-Fitr
The Muslim Graveyard, Mawprem, has informed that the Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayer will be held on May 3 (subject to the sighting of the moon) at 9.30 am in Mawprem Eid Gah field. The prayer will be led by Janab Mawlana Aftab Ahmed Azad.
Award
The Tura Civil Hospital has won the National Kayakalp Award and has been presented with the Eco-Friendly Health Facility Award for the year 2021-22.
Outreach prog
As part of the commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an outreach programme was held at the State Central Library, Shillong, on Thursday, which was attended by students from 21 city-based schools. The main segment of the programme was a PowerPoint presentation touching upon the origin of the taxation system in 2800 B.C. to 3000 B.C., its evolution through the centuries till the present day with special emphasis on Income Tax, a brief ‘Q & A session’, followed by an open-house quiz. Two senior officers of the rank of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax also participated in the event.
PDS quota
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that rice under NFSA, non-NFSA and rice under PMGKAY for NFSA households (AAY & PHH) and wholemeal atta for April are being released through the respective fair price shops. A statement in this regard informed that rice under NFSA and non-NFSA regular quota will be distributed at the scale of 35 kgs per card at Rs 3 per kg for AAY beneficiaries, 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg for PHH beneficiaries and 7.215 kg per household at Rs 12.70-Rs 13 per kg for non-NFSA beneficiaries. “Wholemeal atta will be distributed at the scale of 5 kg per card in urban area and 3 kg per card in rural area at Rs 10.50 per kg,” it said.
