Infra projects in NE to attract pvt investors: DoNER MoS

SHILLONG, April 29: The Centre’s push for infrastructural projects in the Northeastern states will attract private investors, Union MoS for DoNER, BL Verma said on Friday.
Addressing a conclave on Investment Potential and Future Energy Needs of North East at the North Eastern Council here, Verma iterated the Centre’s commitment to boost socio-economic development in the region.
He pointed out that all the central ministries and departments have been mandated to spend 10% of their allocation for the benefit of the eight states. This allocation has increased manifold since the NDA came to power in 2014, he added.
The conclave was part of the North East Fest 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav organised by the DoNER Ministry.
Other who addressed the gathering included Senior Economic Adviser (DoNER), Kumar V Pratap, NEC Secretary, K Moses Chalai, Chief Secretary, RV Suchiang, IIM Shillong Director, DP Goyal and Senior Vice President, Invest India, Dushyant Thakor.
