APS Umroi becomes first school in state to set up hydroponic lab

SHILLONG, May 5: Army Public School, Umroi Military Station, has become the first school in Meghalaya to set up a hydroponic lab.
According to a statement, the lab was inaugurated by Chairman of Army Public School, Umroi Military Station, Brig TS Hothi, on Wednesday.
“The lab has been set up to enhance life skills among children, keeping in view technological advancements taking place in all areas, including agriculture,” the statement said.
It has been established with the assistance of hydroponic expert and founder of Sawaiomfresh, Rudy K Kharmawphlang, the statement added.
