SHILLONG, May 6: As many as six absconding Nigerian nationals, who are wanted in a murder case in Mumbai, were nabbed by Meghalaya Police on Friday. This group was reportedly entering Meghalaya with the intention to flee to Bangladesh through Dawki.
The Meghalaya Police was tipped off by the Mumbai Police about the Nigerian nationals.
On receiving the information, an operation was launched by the state police. The group of six was apprehended from Lad Umsaw, Ri-Bhoi, while they were travelling in a tourist vehicle (ML 10 B 9779).
The six are wanted in connection with a case registered with Waliv Police Station under sections 302/364/201/323/143/147/149 of Indian Penal Code.
The apprehended persons have been identified as Eze Christopher Obasi (43), Ahukanna Chinonso (46), Obi Francis Osita (36), Okoro Kelvin Chidozie (29), Emmanuel Agbeyi (37) and Osagiede Godstime (38).
