Sporting event for children with disabilities

SHILLONG, May 9: A sports event for children with disabilities was recently organised by the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities, Chennai, in collaboration with Jyoti Sroat School and Bethany Society.
The event, which was inaugurated by Officer-in-Charge, Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Shillong, Ram Shakal Sahani, saw a participation of 84 students from Dwar Jingkyrmen School for Children in Need of Special Education, Mary Rice Centre for Special Education, Asha School, Rev. Amirkha School for Disabled, School and Centre for the Hearing Handicapped Children, and Jyoti Sroat School.
Some of the highlights of the sporting event include obstacle race, caterpillar race, relay race, 100-metre race and tunnel ball.
