Tutor arrested for ‘molesting’ 13-year-old in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN, May 10: A local tutor was arrested by Nongstoin Police on Tuesday for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old student from New Nongstoin. Reportedly, the mother of the 13-year-old filed an FIR with Nongstoin Police Station on Tuesday after learning about the incident.
According to the FIR, the minor had gone for tuition to the house of the tutor, one Sanjay Thakur (24), in New Nongstoin on May 9. On this day, other students were absent and the accused allegedly molested her by touching her inappropriately, it was stated in the FIR. After the incident, the minor had informed her mother about what had allegedly happened.
As soon as the mother verbally reported the matter to Nongstoin Women Police Station, the girl was sent for medical examination.
The accused, who was detained on May 9 and arrested subsequently on May 10, will be forwarded to court.
A case has been registered under Section 7/8 of the POCSO Act.
