SHILLONG, May 12: The Joint Action Committee on Border of Meghalaya (JACBOM) has demanded Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s resignation over the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Assam.
JACBOM chairman Erwin Sutnga on Thursday said they have demanded the CM’s resignation so that a more capable person can replace him and reverse the mistakes made by him.
According to Sutnga, the group will soon appoint experts from NEHU to study the historical and legal aspects of the interstate border disputes with Assam.
Slamming the NPP MDCs of the KHADC for backing away from a proposed resolution to approach the court against the MoU, Sutnga said party affiliation was more important to them than the interests of the people and the state.
