National Lok Adalat settles 244 cases in state

SHILLONG, May 14: A total of 244 cases were settled against 1,281 cases that were taken up across the state during the National Lok Adalat, organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) on Saturday.
According to a statement, the National Lok Adalat was organised under the aegis of Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice, Justice Sanjib Banerjee, and under the supervision of the Justice HS Thangkhiew, who are also the Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman of the MSLSA respectively.
During the National Lok Adalat, 828 pre-litigation cases and 453 pending cases were taken up for settlement.
Out of the total number of cases, 244 cases were settled for Rs 37,26,135.
