‘IAF station at Laitkor will play a key role in future ops’

SHILLONG, May 21: Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal DK Patnaik, has said that the Air Force Station at Laitkor peak will play a key role during operations in times to come.
Air Marshal Patnaik, who inspected the Air Force Station at Laitkor peak on Friday, said this during his interaction with air warriors.
According to a statement, Air Marshal Patnaik was received by Station Commander, Group Captain Sandeep Singh, and president of Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (l) of Air Force station Laitkor, Meenakshi Singh.
“The Air Marshal was given a brief presentation which focused on the operational potential and war-fighting capacity of the station,” it said.
Air Marshal Patnaik also inspected various sections of the station and took a census of ongoing works services.
During an interaction with the air warriors, he emphasised on the need to be operationally focused and vigilant.
Asserting that the station will play a key role during operations in times to come, he touched upon various initiatives being taken by the IAF in terms of human resource management.
Air Marshal Patnaik also exhorted the air warriors of the station to remain operationally focused, physically fit and mentally agile and live up to the motto and highest traditions of the IAF.
