Filicide accused remanded in 5-day police custody

SHILLONG, June 1: A court on Wednesday remanded murder accused, Joefferson Jana, in five-day police custody.
Jana on Monday night allegedly murdered his children, aged four and two years, by slitting their throats at Wahktieh, Nongrah Nonglum. After perpetrating the filicide, he reportedly absconded only to be arrested from his residence on Tuesday evening.
The accused was on Wednesday produced before the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate, KE Rymbai, who remanded the former to police custody.
It may be mentioned that the bodies of the victims have been sent to their residence after the post-mortem.
