Conference
The State Women’s Conference 2022 will be organised by the Social Welfare department in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Commission for Women at the State Convention Centre, Shillong, at 10:30 am on Wednesday. The Conference will be graced by Union Minister, Women & Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani, virtually. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Minister i/c Social Welfare, Kyrmen Shylla, will also be present at the conference.

Career guidance
The Students Counselling Cell, IQAC, of the Shillong Law College organised a one-day programme on career counselling and guidance for the students of the college on the college premises recently. The resource persons for the programme include Prof JJ Mozika from the Department of Law, NEHU, who enlightened the students on the ‘Career Prospects in Academics for Law Graduate’. Swapnil Pawar, IPS, in his lecture offered practical tips on effective preparation for the Civil Service Examinations. He also highlighted the success rate of candidates with the law background. Senior advocate SP Mahanta spoke on the Seven Lamps (and the Eight lamp) of Advocacy-the essential qualities of good lawyering.
