Police to seek custody extension of filicide accused

SHILLONG, June 9: Police will petition the court for extension of the police custody of the recent filicide accused, Joefreeson Jana.
When contacted, a senior police official said that they will seek an extension of the police custody the accused needs to be further interrogated.
“We got five days police custody. But we will again plea to the court to extend the period of the police custody whenever we produce him in court,” he said.
It may be mentioned that the court on June 1 remanded the accused to police custody. The police custody was further extended from June 6 for five days.
Jana is under police custody on the charge of murder of his children, aged four and two years.
