Justice RM Chhaya sworn in as Chief Justice of Gauhati HC

Guwahati, June 23: Justice Rashmin Manharbhai Chhaya was on Thursday sworn in as the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court.

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi administered him the oath of office at a solemn function held at the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan in the presence of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice N.Kotiswar Singh, Advocate General, Assam Devajit Saikia,  Judges of Gauhati High Court, members from the legal fraternity, chief secretary Jishnu Barua, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and other senior officials of the state government.
