Financial aid for local groups

SHILLONG, June 26: As many as 11 local organisations have been provided financial assistance to the tune of Rs 5.40 lakh, sanctioned under Discretionary Grant of the year 2022-23, by South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai.
According to a statement, the financial assistance was provided in a bid to support the organisations in holding various social and welfare programmes for BPL students, youths and general public.
While Rs one lakh each has been provided to Raid Laban Secondary School and Kench’s Trace Puja Committee, Rs 50,000 each has been provided to Deep Jyoti Socio-Environment Society, Lumparing Gorkha United Club, Gorkha Association Jhalupara, Ka Synjuk Ki Samla Seng Khasi Ri-Raid Laban, Lawei Traditional Dance Group, Gracious Givers Foundation.
The other beneficiaries include Young Mizo Association (Rs 20,000), Meghalaya Taekwondo Training Academy (Rs 10,000) and Jyoti Sroat School (Rs 10,000).
