Jowai, June 27: The road from Lad Kiang Nangbah Government College to Jowai District jail is in a bad condition and needs attention from the concerned authority.

The road not only leads to Jowai District jail but also to Police Reserve in West Jaintia Hills.

It was also learnt that the police department in the district had verbally intimated about the deplorable condition of the road to the concerned authority. However, the repair work is yet to take place.

A local taxi driver informed that to drop any passenger in that area, one has to charge around Rs. 100 instead of Rs 40 which is a normal rate and the reason behind is the bad road condition.

Several internal roads in Jowai town also need to repair.

An internal road from Nan – Kashari (near DC Office) to ward Tpep – Pale junction (Near Jowai Police Station) was also in very bad condition. The road is mainly used by local taxis but due to the apathetic condition, no local taxis are willing to ply on that road.
