TURA, June 27: Various Baghmara-based groups have announced a two-day sit-in at Baghmara Civil Hospital in protest against the apathy on the part of authorities to address issues at the hospital.
The decision to resort to a sit-in, which will be organised on Wednesday and Thursday, comes after members of various groups conducted a surprise inspection of the hospital, only to discern that their earlier demands for a facelift of the Baghmara Civil Hospital have not been met yet.
It may be mentioned that the groups had alleged that leaks have developed at several places on the roof of the hospital, much to the dismay of the patients, who are shifted from one place to another in search of a dry spot.
To make matters worse, toilets at the hospital too are in a pitiable state with foul smell emanating from them as well as from the drain. In addition to these, the groups claimed that most of the ceiling fans of the hospital have become non-functional, making it difficult for the patients to bear the summer heat.
