SHILLONG, June 28: Funds to the tune of Rs 18 crore have been sanctioned for the construction of the mini secretariat at Pynursla Civil Subdivision in East Khasi Hills.
Informing this here on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the sanctioned funds will also include costs of constructing quarters of the MCS officers.
Tynsong also said that the land for the purpose was donated by Raid Shabong. As of now, a tender has been called for construction of a mini secretariat, he said, adding that the Civil Subdivision will function from one place once the mini secretariat is ready.
Replying to a query with regard to Pynursla Civil Subdivision yet to become fully functional, Tynsong said that the civil subdivision is fully functioning, while adding that there is a full-fledged Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) and Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) in place.
However, stating that there is always room for improvement, the deputy chief minister said efforts are being made to see that more departments are being made operational.
