SHILLONG/NEW DELHI, July 14: Meghalaya on Thursday reported 32 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the state’s active tally to 141.
Airing concern over the rising trend of COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya and other Northeastern states, the Centre will soon consult the state governments on the same.
In the past 24 hours, no cases of COVID-related fatalities have been reported in Meghalaya whilst 22 more people have recovered from the virus, pushing the total number of recoveries to 92,463.
Meghalaya’s total confirmed cases and total deaths now stand at 94,199 and 1,595 respectively.
As per statistics, the district-wise break-up of the active COVID-19 cases include 55 each in East Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills, 19 in Ri-Bhoi, five in West Jaintia Hills, two in South West Garo Hills, and one each in East Garo Hills, East Jaintia Hills and South Garo Hills.
Vaccination status
On the COVID-19 vaccination front, 32,139 healthcare workers in state have received the first dose of the vaccine, 29,511 have been administered with the second dose and 10,019 have taken the third precaution dose.
On theg other hand, 97,028 frontline workers have been vaccinated with the first dose, 85,711 with the second dose and 29,520 with the precaution dose.
Among the general public, 13,01,950 people have been inoculated with the first dose, 9,49,674 with the second dose and 10,209 with the booster dose.

Meanwhile, Manipur has closed all its schools in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases while Tripura has made mask and social distancing mandatory again following a High Court order.
In Tripura and Assam, the COVID-19 positivity rates too have seen an increase.
