Awareness prog on landscape management

SHILLONG, July 16: An awareness programme on landscape management was recently organised by the Department of Economics of Sohra Government College in collaboration with District Project Management Unit-CLLMP (MBMA) and PHE Department.
According to a statement, the programme was attended by faculty members and students of the college, government officials, Rangbah Shnong from villages under Sohra Subdivision, et al.
District Programme Manager, CLLMP, P Rymmai, in his address, highlighted the importance of striking a balance between environment and economic activities for sustainable development.
Discussions were also held on monitoring of water quality, rainwater harvest, among others.
Hands-on training was also provided by the DPMU team on various techniques on landscape management.
The programme was followed by an interactive sessions during which pertinent issues were addressed by the resource persons.
