Inter-College arm wrestling competition conducted in city

SHILLONG, July 20: Sankardev College organised an Inter College Arm Wrestling Competition on Wednesday as part of its year-long Diamond Jubilee Celebration.
The event was inaugurated by the principal of the college, Dr Eureka FP Lyngdoh along with the convener of the Sports Committee of the college Dr Sukjai Swer and members of the Sports Committee.
A total of nine colleges participated including Sankardev College (Men & Women), Seng Khasi College (Men & Women), Shillong College (Men & Women), St Anthony’s College (Men & Women), St Mary’s College (Women), Synod College (Men & Women), Shillong Commerce College (Men & Women), St Edmund’s College (Men & Women), and Lady Keane College (Women).
The winners across the various categories for women were Angelis Kharumnuid in 50 kg (Shillong College), Medariphylla L Nongbri (55 kg St. Edmund’s College), Bandarika Kharkongor (60 kg St Edmund’s College), Zarienia Rapsang (65 kg Synod College), Ladapbiang Malieh (75kg Seng Khasi College) and Hathoithiem Gangte (80 Kg St Edmunds College).
In the men’s category, the winners included Bankerlang Nongkhlaw (55 kg St. Anthony’s College), Shemladbha Khongwir (60 kg Seng Khasi College), Enistone R Marak (65 kg Shillong Commerce College), Marthaniel Tariang (70kg St Edmunds College), Nangapjingbha Nongrum (80 Kg Shillong Commerce College), and Vishal Dey (85 Kg St Edmund’s College).
Meanwhile, Shemladbha Khongwir of Seng Khasi College was the winner of the men’s Over the Top competition while Angelis Kharumnuid of Shillong College won in the female category.
