State Karatekas bring laurels

Shillong, July 22: Meghalaya Karate team bagged 1 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals in the All India Karate Championship 2022 held on July 15-16, at the Indoor Stadium, State Training Centre Bahatarai, Bilaspur, in Chhattisgarh. 27 Karatekas of the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association led by Arjun Sewa and Edwilbert K Nongkynrih as Coach, and Pynhunlang Kharbuli as Manager participated in the competition. The winners from the state are:
Rebeka Nongspung (Gold in Girls Junior individual Kumite -53kg); Cheltis Shylla (Silver in Boys Junior individual Kumite -55kg); Damanbha Pde (Silver in Boys Cadet individual Kumite -50kg); Saralin Rynghang (Bronze in Women individual Kumite -50kg); Hymnson Challam (Bronze in Sub Junior individual Kumite -40kg); Damebanmerbha Blah (Bronze in Junior individual Kumite -50kg); Davy Son Kharkongor (Bronze in Men individual Kumite -50kg); Iohbor Mylliempdah (Bronze in Men individual Kumite -55kg); Paul Danny Kharmudai (Bronze Medal in Boys Junior individual Kumite -55kg); Glikerius Buhphang (Bronze in Men individual Kumite and in Men individual Kata -60Kg).
