Narcotic items recovered from bikers in Tura

SHILLONG, July 25: Police on Monday seized narcotics substances from bikers in Tura.
Inputs were earlier received that some miscreants were going to transport narcotic substances from Mankachar, Assam, to Tura in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.
Naka checking was placed in and around strategic places near Tura town to catch the miscreants.
The police then intercepted the two riders onboard their bike (ML-08-G-723), identified as Rex John K Sangma, a resident of Ringre Gittim, Tura, and Bishal Ch Marak of Lower Balsarang, Tura. The duo was detained near Ghoramara, Garobadha PIC.
On being searched, a total of 2,856 SP capsules (142.8 grams tramadol hydrochloride) and 18 no of Nitcor 10mg tablets (18 grams nitrazapem IP) were recovered from their possession.
