SHILLONG, July 26: The state government is likely to finalise the name of the new chief secretary in a day or two.
“The file has already been processed. It is just a question of another two to three days,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said on Tuesday.
Incumbent Chief Secretary Rebecca V Suchiang is retiring at the end of this month.
“I thank Rebecca Suchiang and today technically was her last cabinet meeting with us. She has contributed a lot. I wish her the best for the future,” he said.
To a query on whether Additional Chief Secretary Donald P Wahlang will be named as Suchiang’s successor, the chief minister said, “You will know soon.”
