Three get life for murder in WJH

JOWAI, July 28: A sessions court in West Jaintia Hills on Wednesday convicted three persons accused of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment along with a fine imposition worth Rs 15,000 each.
The three were identified as Mulo Rakait, loolang Rakait and Thum Rakait.
According to West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, an FIR was received by Nartiang Police on July 11, 2006, which stated that on July 10, 2006, one Salong Rakait was murdered by Mulo Rakait, loolang Rakait, Mut Rakait, Thum Rakait and Dilip Chyrmang in Nartiang village.
The District Session Court, West Jaintia Hills, on Wednesday declared Mulo Rakait, loolang Rakait and Thum Rakait as guilty.
In a separate case, one Koran Kharmawlong was awarded five year and two months of imprisonment in addition to a year and 10 months that he already served in prison.
Against Koran Kharmawlong, an FIR was registered with Jowai Police Station that he broke into the house of the complainant and destroyed the property inside the house and then fled away.
