NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Tura MP Agatha Sangma on Tuesday brought to the notice of the Lower House the dearth of basic amenities in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kendrikona, in South West Garo Hills, and sought immediate remedial measures.
The MP informed the House how the school is reeling under lack of facilities, some of which include power and infrastructure.
Agatha informed that whilst the non-availability of electricity affects the distribution of water inside the school campus, incomplete boundary wall of the campus jeopardizes the safety and security of the schoolchildren and staff.
Some parts of the campus also need to be constructed immediately, she said.
She also accentuated the need to replace leaking water pipelines inside the campus and provide a playground for the school.
“I also would like to request the government to consider the CCS Pension Schemes (1972) to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School employees who joined services prior to January 2004,” Agatha said.
