NONGPOH, Aug 16: A youth died from the injuries he received after a speeding scooty (AS 01 DM 0131) hit him while he was walking on the National Highway-6 at Umtrew in Ri-Bhoi on Monday.
According to the police, the incident happened circa 12 pm when the youth, who has been identified as Deeconstar Marbaniang (25) of Umtrew village, was walking on the roadside and the scooty hit him.
The victim was immediately shifted to Umsning Community Health Centre for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
