Unclaimed bodies
The bodies of two men who were admitted in Shillong Civil Hospital have yet to be claimed, according to the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong. One Rockstar Ryntathiang (29) of Langkyrding, Shillong, was admitted in the COVID-19 Observation Ward (Female Medical Ward) at 12:30 pm on July 31. He passed away at 2:40 pm on the same day. Another patient Binod Thapa (40) of Nongmensong was admitted in the Male Medical Ward-I at 9:13 am on August 12, and he expired at 11 am. All concerned relatives, etc. are requested to collect the bodies from the hospital morgue, failing which they will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
Felicitation
Sankardev College Shillong will organise a felicitation programme to recognise the services rendered by the personnel and members of Shillong Traffic Police, Shillong Municipal Board, Meghalaya Nursing Council and Trained Nurses Association of India (Meghalaya Chapter). The programme will be held at the conference room of the college on Thursday morning. Deputy Commisione of East Khasi Hills Isawanda Laloo will grace the occasion as the chief guest, according to a statement.
Awareness prog
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong, in collaboration with the Social Welfare department, Health department, C&RD Block, District Legal Services Authority, Nongstoin, and other stakeholders will organise a health cam-cum-awareness programme on NALSA scheme, a government welfare scheme under the theme ‘Bridging the Gap’ at St John Bosco Higher Secondary School, Nongkhroh Rambrai, from 10 am on Saturday.
