7 arrested in drive against illicit liquor

SHILLONG, Aug 29: A total of seven persons were arrested after raids on restaurants and stalls in Shillong and the outskirts during the drive against illicit liquor, illegal sale of IMFL undertaken by the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills, in the month of July 2022.
As many as nine cases were detected and the Excise staff seized around 35 litres of illegally distilled liquor and over 6 litres of IMFL.
The cases are under investigation/prosecution.
