Group airs concern over poor road infra

SHILLONG, Aug 31: The Confederation of Ri-Bhoi People (CoRP), Jirang circle, has expressed concern over the deplorable condition of the key roads in Jirang constituency, Ri-Bhoi.
According to the CoRP president S Lyngdoh, the residents of Nongrim Jirang on the border with Assam are facing trouble due to poor road infrastructure, especially while transporting goods.
He alleged that depite the portion of the road being a backbone, the PWD has not bothered to repair the road for the last five years and the stretch of the road is now filled with potholes.
The CoRP also demanded removal the contractor in-charge of the Mynnar Jirang road.
