MAWKYRWAT, Aug 31: The president and secretary of PDF Mawkyrwat Zonal Committee have resigned from the primary membership of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and are all set to join the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Kordorlyne Kharlyngdoh and Phaibor Paliar, who are the president and secretary of the PDF Mawkyrwat Zonal Committee respectively, had, in their resignation letter, said, “It was a really great pleasure to serve in the party as members and also we want to thank all the comrades for giving us such a great honour. We wish the party good luck in all the works and the political endeavours.”
Kharlyngdoh informed that he and Paliar had resigned from the party in order to support former FKJGP leader Sounder Strong Cajee, who will be contesting the 2023 assembly elections from Mawkyrwat Constituency on a TMC ticket.
“We had decided to support Cajee, a prominent leader of the state, who is capable of bringing changes to Mawkyrwat Constituency and the state as a whole,” Kharlyngdoh said.
Kharlyngdoh also announced that he and Cajee, along with others, will join the TMC in the meeting on September 24 in Mawkyrwat.
