10 MLCU students receive laptops

SHILLONG, Sep 9: A total of 10 students of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) were provided free laptops each as part of the COVID Response Provision of the Federal Bank, Police Bazar, during a programme organised by the Dean of Students and Finance Office, MLCU.
According to a statement, the laptops were given away to students who had enrolled in MLCU through the MLCU Free COVID Scholarship 2021.
The programme was attended by Branch Head, Federal Bank, Shillong, Noyal Baby, Regional Head, Guwahati, Nijil PJ, The Shillong Times Editor Patricia Mukhim, MLCU board members, officers, faculty, staff, students, et al.
Dean Dr Chelmylene Dhar, in her address, said that the university had conducted surveys among the scholarship students and had identified that some of them did not have devices that hindered their learning.
It was following this 10 students were selected, who were then provided laptops.
