‘UDP to take any scam to logical conclusion’

SHILLONG, Sep 10: The United Democratic Party (UDP) will take any ‘scam’ to its logical conclusion and ensure that the guilty get penalized, asserted party’s working president Paul Lyngdoh.
Reacting to a query about the alleged vehicle scam in the Police department, Lyngdoh said the rule of law should prevail and there should be no ‘blue-eyed boy’ in any department.
“No matter how high the rank is and how influential a person is, they should not be allowed to call the shots in any department,” he said.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has already ruled out allegations of scam in connection with Assistant Inspector General’s purchase of 29 police vehicles.
The CM had said that there could have been issues pertaining to the allotment of the said vehicles but it cannot convert the entire situation as a ‘scam’.
