Over 100 NPP and TMC workers join BJP in Ri-Bhoi

SHILLONG, Sep 22: More than 100 party workers of ruling National People’s Party (NPP) and opposition Trinamool Congress (TMC) reportedly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ri-Bhoi on Thursday.
According to a statement, the Ri-Bhoi District Committee of BJP organised a mandal meeting near Bhoirymbong, which was attended by BJP state president Ernest Mawrie, BJP Assam spokesman Rupam Goswami, among others.
During the meeting, Shanbor Rande was elected president and Bethelda Teron general secretary of the mandals.
Lauding the efforts of Ri-Bhoi for completing all five block committees, Mawrie urged the party members to make relentless endeavours to secure maximum number of seats from Ri-Bhoi.
